Japan ‘traveleating’ book cover

A ‘traveleating’ journal: japan is based on the final posts of my old blog World Foodie Guide, outlining two weeks of travelling and eating in Japan during November 2009.

The 80 page book is now free on iTunes and it looks great on the iPad! If for some reason you have problems downloading it from iTunes, please try downloading it directly from Blurb.

The journey is divided into sections on Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagano and Numazu. This was my fifth trip to Japan and husband Garson Byer’s second. Many more visits are needed to experience even just a small part of what Japan has to offer in terms of food, culture, history and hospitality. I’d love to travel to both the far north and south of Japan over the next few years.

Photos were taken with Leicas, mostly using my old Leica D-Lux 4, with additional photography by Garson Byer from In A Lonely Place, using his Leica M8.2 and M4.

All proceeds from the sale of the original book were donated to my nominated charity Crazy Bake in Beijing, which helps mentally challenged patients become more self sufficient.

Thank you again to all those who supported the charity!
